Donna L. Johnson, JD, ICADC II, ICCJP, ICCDP-D, LADC

Donna is Director of the Clare|Matrix Training Institute in Santa Monica,Ca. She has provided Matrix Model and many other trainings for over 20 years. Donna is also co- author of the Matrix Model for Criminal Justice. Donna also works with many international programs in Dubai, UAE Abu Dhabi, UAE, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Thailand, Honduras and the United Kingdom among many others.  

She has been a featured Criminal Justice columnist for Counselor Magazine. She has numerous magazine articles and has been featured on CBS Atlanta, ABC Los Angeles, PBS, CNN, Fox News and other media on various substance use disorder, behavioral health and criminal justice related issues.  Donna served as the Executive Director for a large community mental health center with treatment services in all levels of care. She also has her own company specializing in training and consulting.  She has provided consulting and training to numerous state addiction authorities, hospitals, agencies, Fortune 500 companies and many criminal justice and drug court programs.   She has been a keynote speaker and speaker for many state and national conferences including the National Association for Drug Court Professionals Conference, California Addiction Conferences, Georgia Conference on Addictions, National Trauma Summit, National Conference on Addictive Disorders and the United Kingdom and European Symposium on Addictive Disorders.

J Rocky Romero, Ph. D., LMSW

Dr. J Rocky Romero, LMSW is the CEO and owner of JR Romero & Associates, a company he started 21 years ago that focuses on behavioral health program development, program evaluation, consultation, and specialized training.  Dr. Romero completed his doctoral studies at the University of New Mexico in Language, Literacy and Sociocultural Studies (LLSS) with a focus on analyzing legal discourse related so Spanish colonization while applying a critical race theory lens.  

Dr. Romero was a doctoral fellow for El Centro de la Raza at the University of New Mexico during his doctoral studies where he also served as the President of the College of Education’s student Graduate Association in LLSS.  Dr. Romero is a former Assistant Professor for New Mexico Highlands University School of Social Work in Albuquerque, NM.  He served as the co-chair for Governor Richardson’s New Mexico Higher Education Cultural Competency Taskforce.  Dr. Romero has also served as an Executive Council member for the NM-Consortium for Behavioral Health Training and Research to include many other boards and committees.  Dr. Romero has been a trainer and consultant for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) funded National Hispanic & Latino-Mental Health Technology Transfer Center for the last 13 years.  

Through his substance use prevention work he is a national and international senior trainer for Clare|Matrix Training Insitute for the last 14 years.  In this role Dr. Romero trains community and government-based agencies on how to implement and utilize the evidence-based substance use disorder model to treatment fidelity.  Dr. Romero is one our primary trainers for indigenous and tribal communities both nationally and internationally.

Scottiann McLain, M.Ed, LPCC-S 

Scottiann McLain, M.Ed, LPCC-S is the Senior Director of Recovery Services at Ramey Estep Homes, Inc. in Rush Kentucky. 

Scottiann has worked in the mental health field since 1999.  Over that time she has worked with several different populations including families, individuals with mental health disorders, children, females with postpartum depression, children from birth to five and individuals with substance use disorders.

She has worked with the leadership at Ramey Estep Homes to develop all the recovery programs since starting work with them in 2016. 

Some of her favorite work is training and teaching others.  She is a key supervisor with the Matrix Model,, a trainer for Motivational Interviewing, North Carolina Family Assessment Scale, and a Counseling Board-approved supervisor in Kentucky.   Her passion is building the next generation of professionals in order to grow and expand the profession.

Her exceptional work in building clinical programs for her agency and clinical supervision resulted in 3 of her agency site receiving the designation with a 3 Year Matrix Model Certification with Excellence.  Due to her clinical success she was a natural fit as a Matrix Model Trainer and has been training for the past 2 years.

Lynda M. Coraluzzi, LCADC, CAADC

As a 3rd year Doctoral student at Widener University, Lynda is seeking her PhD in Health Professions Education with the focus on research of patients with advanced liver disease and alcohol use disorder. Lynda is a graduate of Drexel University as a master’s level clinician licensed in alcohol and drug counseling (LCADC) in the state of New Jersey and an advanced certified alcohol and drug counselor (CAADC) in the state of Pennsylvania.

Lynda has worked with the liver transplantation center at the University of Pennsylvania, as a program developer and research consultant for alcohol use disorder and is currently developing the H.E.A.L. (Hope, Empower, Acceptance, Life) program at Jefferson Health’s department of liver transplantation, Einstein campus. In addition to my clinical role, Lynda is a national trainer for CLARE/MATRIX training institute, teaching a virtual evidence-based curriculum to treatment programs for criminal justice involved individuals, including adolescents and adults.

Lynda’s work encompasses specialized populations including liver transplantation patients, and incarcerated individuals over the last 12 years. Lynda is certified in cognitive behavioral therapy and completed her certification in meditation instruction.
