One of the most dangerous phrases in the human language is “ We have always done it this way”.  That mindset will leave organizations lagging behind. Organizations will need new strategies to fully compete in 2025 and beyond.  

Due to increased demand for our consulting services, we are now expanding those services to assist treatment providers, hospital systems, drug courts and correctional services in fully exploring how they can improve services, treatment outcomes and overall system restructuring.  Due to our over 30 years of experience and successful outcomes we are confident we can assist in all levels of care and provide new ways to expand services that promotes better overall outcomes and increased financial opportunities.  In addition to the below consulting services we also provide training as part of the consulting package.

Consulting Services offered:
Review of organizational structure to review opportunities for improvement.  Many organizations still operate on very old structural models limiting other opportunities and growth potential.  We can provide a complete organizational assessment and recommendations to improve overall services
Use of Artificial Intelligence – AI can assist organizations with documentation, treatment planning and marketing among other potential areas. AI can automate the gathering of information to aid with intake and intake documentation requirements.  AI can step in and fill the gap by collecting information from clients and move them into the required forms.   The integration of technology in therapy and treatment services will be a major trend in 2025 and beyond.  AI driven tools, mobile apps, and new platforms that can enhance the client experience.  AI powered mental health apps and substance use disorder apps that provide mood tracking, return to use risk, and therapeutic exercises along with real-time feedback will be utilized with traditional approaches. AI can automate risk-assessment tasks and talk therapy. 

Digital Therapeutics – The FDA is approving digital therapeutics at a rapid rate.  The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid added codes for digital treatment in its 2025 fee schedules.   A client can now be prescribed FDA approved digital apps to be included in the treatment planning. 

Training and Feedback-   Everyone can learn and improve skills.  AI can listen to sessions and provide feedback to providers on how they can deliver better care, build better therapeutic alliances and improve client engagement.  While not replacing clinical supervision which is extremely important it can reduce time and cost and improve overall care. AI can also provide simulated sessions so providers can practice and build skills.  We can provide the latest information in this new technology to assist providers. 

Intake and Assessment – One of the biggest issues that lose income for an organization is failure to engage an individual in services promptly and appropriately.  We believe the intake and assessment are one of the most important if not the most important components of the treatment process.  If the assessment is wrong the treatment will likely be wrong leading to individuals in the wrong level or care and failed treatment attempts.  We will review the organizational intake process, forms and other needs to fully explore ways to assist in improving these organizational areas leading to treatment completions and improved outcomes.

Client Engagement- Many organizations have difficulty or lack the right approaches to keep individuals and families involved in the treatment process.  We have significant experience with this area and strategies to improve client engagement.

Billing - Many organizations lose income purely based on outdated billing systems, processes that no longer match the systems utilized.  We can review and make recommendations of ways to improve billing not only for income but to ensure documentation matches services billed and organizations do not have paybacks. 

Strategies with Justice Populations – Individual with substance use disorders are often involved in the justice system in some way.  We have significant experience in working with justice involved individuals and justice system.  Beginning in 2025 there will be expanded opportunities and funding to provide services for individuals in the justice system. Individuals in the justice system not only have substance use issues but behaviors that cause them to become involved in the justice system. We can address treatment approaches to manage and see the differences between someone with just a substance use disorder but also potentially other behaviors such as anti-social personality disorders.   We can provide training and strategies for managing ambivalence, behaviors and look at ways to provide services in a fully integrated approach to recovery care.  We additionally provide training in the justice area.  Our Director is one of the authors of the Matrix Model for Criminal Justice one of the leading treatment approaches with this population. 

Increased use of Telehealth – Due to the rapidly increased use of artificial intelligence telehealth components will also be widely expanded in the future to take advantage of the potential of both concepts in treatment. We can provide strategies for this new way of doing business.

Trauma Informed Care -  Many individuals who present for treatment often have adverse life events that impact their treatment needs.  While many organizations state they use a trauma informed care approach upon review those abilities are limited.  We can assess the organizational structure with tools used to evaluate those systems and ensure they are indeed using those approached to benefit those in care.  We also provide training in this area. 

Holistic Approaches to Care – In 2025 many individuals will seek out holistic approaches to integrate the mind, body and spirit. We foresee this being a huge shift based on the potential climate for treatment and treatment providers  We can assist in the providing new ways to implement mindfulness, meditation, yoga and treatment approaches that engage the individual in the treatment process promoting improved outcomes.
